Volume PR Founder and CEO Elizabeth Edwards named one of Denver Business Journal’s 2020 ‘Outstanding Women in Business’

DENVER – Sept. 13, 2020 – Volume PR Founder and CEO Elizabeth Edwards has been named one of the Denver Business Journal’s “Outstanding Women in Business” for 2020, according to a special report published in August.

Edwards joins 36 other distinguished business leaders across the Denver metro area recognized in the publication’s 22nd annual “celebration of women making an impact in the professional community.” Business leaders are recognized in categories ranging from real estate, law, technology and both small and large business sectors. Edwards was named among the “Communications, Media and Public Relations” leaders.

The 2020 list examines how these women are shifting their leadership styles, using their voices to inspire change and, how they recharge, according to the special report. “They’re making tough decisions fast and collaborating more than ever, often in new ways, in the face of a pandemic that deeply impacted the state’s economy,” the report states.

“While the crisis has created many challenges, it has also hushed the rush in ways that are refreshing and beneficial,” Edwards said of how the pandemic has impacted her leadership style. “Working from home and only traveling to get in front of our webcams has its stresses, but it has brought a degree of slowing and focus to the day that feels like it deepens the quality of my connections and leadership. I am having more authentic, heart-forward conversations with team members and clients than ever before.”

Nominations for the 2020 list were submitted online through the Denver Business Journal’s website and judged by an editorial panel. Nominees in each category were judged on innovation, entrepreneurship, professional accomplishments and community leadership from the information provided on their nomination form.

“I’m incredibly humbled and honored to be included among this list of amazing women leaders,” Edwards said. “This year has been a challenge for everyone, and women have again stepped it up to meet every challenge head on.
